NH Bar Association Bar News, February 15, 2008 -- New Hampshire Bar Association (NHBA) awards 2008 Distinguished Pro Bono Service Award to Shanelaris & Schirch. Law practitioners from around the state gathered at the Grappone Center, Concord, NH to recognize a dozen law
practitioners from around the state for their distinguished service. Awards included recognition of large firms, small firms as well as sole practitioners.# # #
Collaborative Law Alliance of New Hampshire, January 2008 -- Attorney Jane Schirch, Shanelaris & Schirch, PLLC, elected Board Member of the NH Collaborative Law Alliance for 2008. Collaborative Law is an alternative dispute resolution technique for resolving conflicts and reaching agreements using cooperative strategies rather than adversarial techniques and litigation. It recognizes the need for each party to have an attorney, but avoids the involvement of the Court. Therefore, the parties avoid the difficult, emotional and time-consuming process of litigation. The idea is that the parties will fully cooperate in the disclosure of information, consultation of experts and evaluation of assets. # # #
State of New Hampshire, 2007 -- Catherine Shanelaris, Esq. appointed to the Access to Justice Commission by the New Hampshire Supreme Court. In New Hampshire, the state Supreme Court established an Access to Justice Commission in January in its efforts to find ways to make legal representation more affordable and self-representation more feasible. Accordingly the state has selected qualified
representatives to help enact the commission's policies and its endeavors. # # #

A member of the NH Bar since 1994, she been a very active participant in the Pro Bono Program since 2000, when she returned to private practice.
